Fall/Winter 2024: Shoe Report

The Fall/Winter 2024 collection was a study in contrasts, including the hyper-feminine against the starkly masculine. Shoes went into two directions, subverting staples from both closets: the women’s pump and the men’s monk strap oxford.
All Pumped Up
Bourgeoise and archetypically feminine, the classic pump is an eternally interesting staple to riff on. This season, the pump comes three ways. As a molded pump that has the look of organic fossilized matter with a teardrop-shaped peep-toe. Meanwhile the Pierced story continues as a molded pump with an aerodynamic swoop of hardware piercing the toe and a closed pump with the same hardware snaking over the toe. The uniting element for all three: wrapped, crescent-shaped heels.
Monk Business
The monk strap is a buckled oxford that comes from the world of tailoring and traditional menswear. Our three-buckle version experiments with negative space; half the upper is sliced away to create a sturdy, masculine-chic flat sandal.

Fall/Winter 2024: The Warmup It wouldn’t be a Tory Burch show without models getting runway-ready in matching Tory Sport. This season’s tracksuits were sleek and ’70s-inspired in black with slim white piping tracing the bonded crepe jacket and flared pants. Suited to a collection of contrasts, our classic Good Luck Trainer in all-white finished the look.
