Fashion Director Jing Leng’s SS23 Shopping Haul
With spring almost on the horizon, it’s the perfect time for a shopping haul. And although I’m a busy mom, who’s been working non-stop since Lunar New Year, I already carved out time to invest in my new essentials and update my closet for the upcoming season. My latest finds include some amazing clothes, shoes, and a viral handbag that’s taken the internet by storm. I’d love to share it with you and maybe even help inspire your own new season buys. Read on to discover it all!
Whether for their business-casual pieces or edgy essentials, I’ve been obsessed with Celine for the past two years, and this season, their spring denim collection immediately caught my eye. I couldn't resist buying the jacket, straight-leg jeans, and midi skirt. What really sets these pieces apart are the intricate details you only see up close, like the paisley embroidery on the jacket’s cuff, which reminds me of when my mom used to stitch my name inside the collar of my school shirt. I also love the buttoned pockets on the skirt, which remind me of cargo pants, and give off a rebellious street-style vibe. The cut and fit on a pair of jeans by Celine always works for me. I love this brand’s subtle blend of elegance and simplicity.
There’s nothing easier than a matching set, and I love the campus vibe of this white polo shirt and pleated mini by Celine. The skirt has an elastic waistband and a soft texture that feels amazing. The shirt is made of delicate mesh, which is thicker and less transparent than regular tennis shirts. Plus, it has great shoulder support that doesn't sag.
While it’s not a well-known label, AERON suits my business-casual style, perfectly. It’s an old clothing house from Hungary that I recently came across, and I love how it's seasonal and ZERO knitwear lines have a low-key luxury about them. This season, I bought their chestnut lambskin blazer, which has a delicate, luxurious shine to it. I went for a larger-than-usual size, and love that it doesn’t feel heavy when I wear it. I also bought a pair of well-cut pants and two knit bodysuits in different colors. The bodysuits are from the ZERO knitwear line, and I love the way they sculpt my curves.
The Symmetry Pochette from Savette has been popular all over the internet recently, and I couldn’t resist buying one for myself. Those of you who've already seen my unboxing video on TikTok will already be familiar with it. Many people substitute it for the Hermès Mini Kelly bag because it’s only a fifth of the price! I love its chic edges and stitching; its craftsmanship is equal to that of a top luxury brand and the design is exquisite. Mine is creamy-brown lizard-skin, with a smooth, delicate texture and a simple, elegant lock.
A new wardrobe isn’t complete without new shoes, and this season I bought a pair of ankle boots with a pointed-metal toecap from Celine. They have a very typical rocker look, that Heidi loves. I also got a pair of bubblegum-pink ankle boots by Mach & Mach that look like they came straight from Barbie's closet. They are so cute and comfortable!
Lastly, I bought a pair of Christian Louboutin crystal shoes in an ice-blue color that reminds me of Cinderella's classic fairytale dress! If you compare Louboutin's crystal density and brightness to other brands, I have no doubt it would win hands down. They are perfect for a glamorous gala or special event and I plan to pass them down to our daughter, Emma. That's it for my first shopping spree of the year! If there's anything specific you'd like me to review, please let me know in the comments. See you in the next episode. And, in the meantime, don't forget to follow me!
