Kick, Push, Curb
Skateboarder Tyler Blue Golden tests out Lanvin’s cult classic Curb sneaker.
What does the oldest French fashion house in operation have in common with street skating? Adaptation. To maintain its tremendous legacy, Lanvin has had no choice but to evolve with the ever-changing sensibilities of global culture. The house moves forward through time, colliding with the new; each collision transforms it and makes the brand stronger in its wake. Skateboarding is all about interacting with the surroundings, finding new ways to get creative with morphing cityscapes and surprising materials.
The Lanvin Curb sneaker is a synchronicity. A nod to the infamous Osiris D3—a skate shoe launched in 2001 that redefined, and polarized, the genre with its exaggerated proportions—the Curb’s chunky, round silhouette pairs just as well with fat laces and oversized denim as it does with a relaxed suiting look. For FW23, Lanvin injected even more personality into the Curb, with new pale pink and yellow ombré suede options, and customizable woven chevron laces in every shade. As skateboarder and model Tyler Blue Golden illustrates in the streets of New York, in the post-ugly era, there are no rules.
