Q&A with Tyrah
How did you get into fashion?
TB: As a child, it was always fun to play around with clothes by changing up the colors and styles, and setting my own trends. I think sketching and dressing up during those early years helped shape my current stylistic abilities. My work as a stylist and how I dress myself are both outlets for creativity.
Describe your style in three words.
TB: Unique, versatile, and ever-changing.
Who are your favorite designers and why?
TB: Balenciaga, Versace, and Poster Girl. I love how Balenciaga's aesthetic perfectly complements streetwear; Versace's vibrant and vivacious colors add playful undertones to any ensemble, particularly their footwear. And I love how Poster Girl's creations exude a sense of empowerment and positivity.
What type of looks do you create for your followers?
TB: As someone who enjoys fashion, I find it thrilling to experiment with different looks. I'm constantly seeking new inspiration and am open to trying out a variety of styles, whether feminine, bold, or inspired by streetwear. I often enjoy blending opposing elements to create a truly distinctive and captivating outfit. Ultimately, fashion is all about self-expression and having fun, and I embrace that mentality wholeheartedly.
How do you style yourself for day and night?
TB: If I'm going to a laid-back gathering, I typically wear a playful top or graphic tee with distressed pants and sneakers to match the relaxed vibe. But if I am dressing for a more sophisticated event I would opt for a corset, distressed pants, and a sleek pair of heels to convey a sense of refinement and poise. Ultimately, the message I wish to convey through my outfit is dictated by the occasion and dress code.
