ModeSens Metrics: Top 5 Brands on ModeSens This Week
Every week, ModeSens Metrics will be your home for new data pieces centered around the best-selling brands, products, and most popular search queries on the platform. To kick off our data storytelling initiatives, we are bringing you the first in a weekly series: the top brands on ModeSens this week.
On Fridays, the ModeSens team will share our internal data with the community revealing which styles, brands, and pieces are trending. From heritage house’s to up-and-coming designers in streetwear and luxury—here are the top 5 selling women's and men’s brands on ModeSens this week.
Women
Zimmermann
Elegance, sophistication, femininity, and beauty all describe the design philosophy at the forefront of Zimmermann’s ethos. From humble beginnings in Sydney, Australia, sisters Nicky and Simone would spend time selling dresses at Paddington markets. From the beginning, Zimmermann found a home creating designs that emphasized paisley and floral prints, vibrant colors, and cuts that flatter the body's proportions.
Today, Zimmermann remains one of the most popular brands week over week on ModeSens, according to our data. In fact, Zimmermann is right behind Dolce & Gabbana when comparing weekly sales. Popular designs include the Devi Spliced Mini Dress, Devi Billow Blouse, and Ginger Floral Relaxed Silk Blouse, all available on sale through our partnered retailers.
Retrofête
New York-based Retrofête has built a reputation for creating stunning dresses and gowns for any occasion — from Sunday brunch to a cocktail party.
Retrofête nearly tied in weekly sales with Zimmermann, and significantly outsold our other two labels. ModeSens users can find their designs at up to 40% off through our partnered retailers, meaning Retroféte offers some of the best values for money on this list.
Rick Owens
While Rick Owens’ avant-garde designs have dominated men’s fashion over the years, the women’s line is arguably where the brand continues to push the boundaries with silhouette and tailoring. Unlike Rick Owens menswear, the women’s collection fully embraces elegance and femininity. Popular designs include one-shoulder silk dresses with a Grecian feel, platform leather boots, sequin shorts, skirts, and flowy trousers.
Despite not cracking the top of our list, Rick Owens continuously appears in our top 5 best-selling brands of the week, a testament to the growing impact of Rick Owens for both men and women.
Jacquemus
According to our data, Jacquemus is consistently one of the top-selling handbag brands on ModeSens, outperforming renowned heritage houses like Burberry and Saint Laurent. While quietly dominating the handbag market, Jacquemus’ dresses, blazers, tops, and hats are also beginning to slowly infiltrate our top 5 weekly sales.
It’s a testament to Jacquemus’ fast influence on the fashion industry after only starting out in 2009. Despite being younger, newer, and fresher than other designers on this list, Jacquemus continues to dominate week-after-week sales.
Alexander McQueen
One of the most important designers of his generation, the impact of Alexander McQueen’s vision is evident, past and present. According to our data, Alexander McQueen was the fifth highest-sold brand on the platform this last week, with popular pieces including an array of dresses and sneakers.
Alexander McQueen also boasts the highest price total per sale on this week’s list, with the average customer spending over $2,000 per transaction.
Men
Streetwear continues to dominate the men’s fashion ecosystem, with traditional luxury brands taking a backseat according to our weekly sales numbers. Streetwear label Rhude continues to dominate our men’s weekly sales, taking the number one spot on this week’s list and accounting for 6% of total transactions on the ModeSens platform.
Amiri, Loro Piana, Brunello Cucinelli, Fear of God (and Essentials), and Rick Owens are right behind Rhude in total sales. Despite ranking fourth on this list, Loro Piana has the highest average spend per purchase at around $2,100.
According to our data, Fear of God Essentials has the lowest average price per purchase at $61 and ranks 5th in total sales. The brand also has the highest orders week over week, an indication that the affordable-first business model of Fear of God continues to outperform its higher-end competitors.
