While trends come and go, wardrobe essentials are constantly in demand for those in search of a forever uniform. This week’s top 5 selling brands on ModeSens best exemplify this idea. Some of the week’s best-selling products came from The Row and Totême, two brands that emphasize timeless appeal through functionality, versatility, and minimalism.

Whether you’re filling gaps in your summer closet or searching for new ‘quiet luxury’ themed pieces for a seasonless rotation, read on for our breakdown of the top 5 selling brands on ModeSens this week.

The Row

For the first time in our weekly rankings, The Row is the top-selling brand of the week. Established by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen in 2006, The Row has grown exponentially over the last decade. The Row—named after London’s Saville Row, a street populated by high-end tailors—is known for sleek suiting and minimal essentials in a timeless, neutral palette. In 2012, the twins were named Womenswear Designers of the Year by The Council of Fashion Designers of America and today their designs are loved by celebrities such as Kendall Jenner, Jonah Hill, and Zoe Kravitz.

This week's popular products by The Row included an array of summer staples like the Adam loafers, Maud 80 wraparound leather sandals, and the Brant classic button-down shirt. According to our data, the average shopper spent nearly $1,300 on their purchases from The Row on ModeSens this week, solidifying the brand as one of the most expensive and best-selling on the platform. While bright, vibrant colors have dominated popular trends and looks this season, The Row proves that quiet luxury, through simple tones and minimalism, never goes out of style.

Zimmermann

While other brands come and go from our weekly rankings, Zimmermann consistently ranks in the top three. perhaps, in part, because the Australian fashion house is one of the more affordable brands on this list. According to our data, the average Zimmermann customer spent under $600 per purchase on ModeSens, the lowest on this list.

Zimmermann’s dominance in our weekly rankings is impressive. The brand consistently outsells some of the biggest fashion houses in the world while maintaining a relatively affordable price point for customers.

With summer in full swing, it’s no surprise Zimmermann's seasonal staples—mini dresses, skirts, and shorts—are among the brand’s best-selling designs on ModeSens.

Balmain

For the second week in a row, Balmain ranks in our top 5 selling brands, rising to number three from five last week. Balmain designs balance elegance and exuberance, and are revered by generations of luxury fashion consumers.

The ModeSens community spent an average of $730 on Balmain products this week, with popular designs including the ribbed-knit pencil skirt, monogram crop top in red, and the B-east chunky trainers.

Valentino

This week marks the second consecutive ranking for Valentino on our list. While Valentino consistently ranks within our top 20-selling brands of the year, the recent rankings in our top 5 could push the brand into the top 10 by the end of the summer. Only time will tell.

On average, buyers spent over $2,000 per Valentino product on ModeSens, making it the most expensive brand on this list. Popular products this week include silk mini-dresses, vibrant-colored blazers, and leather boots.

Totême

For the first time in this series, New York-based fashion house Totême joins our growing list of elite-selling brands on ModeSens. Totême is the only newcomer on this week’s list, and its meteoric rise on ModeSens quite literally came out of nowhere. According to our data, the brand hasn’t ranked within our top 20 this year, despite boasting strong sales this week. Totême is also the most affordable brand on the list, with an average purchase price of $330.

Established in New York by the Swedish couple Elin King and Karl Lindman in 2014, Totême perfectly represents Scandinavian design and minimalism. The brand sticks with neutral tones, allowing the cuts of the garments to take center stage. Popular products on ModeSens this week include the one-shoulder ribbed dress, stripped wool and cotton turtleneck, and the drawstring cargos in Ecru.

Like others on this list, Totême’s placing proves that not all ModeSens shoppers are interested in trends. Like The Row, Totême’s focus on minimalism, muted tones, and flattering silhouettes are a testament to how many shoppers want to build a uniform with staying power.

Top Selling Menswear Brands of the Week — Familiar Faces Return

Week over week, Rhude dominates our top 5 selling brands, never dipping below the third rank and commonly sitting comfortably at number one. This week, Rhude took our number-one spot with an average purchase price of $200. Like Rhude, Fear of God Essentials returns in our number 2 spot and remains the most affordable brand on the list with an average purchase price of $64.

Amiri, Casablanca, and Gucci followed suit. Gucci is the most expensive brand on the menswear list, with an average purchase price of over $900. A quick comparison of prices on womenswear and menswear proves how much more expensive women's clothing is across the board. On average, men spend hundreds, if not thousands of dollars less on the brands they support on ModeSens. This also means that comparatively, women drive the majority of high-volume sales of luxury fashion on ModeSens.

This doesn’t mean menswear isn’t growing in popularity. According to our data, the top 5 menswear brands this week outsold the womenswear brands by nearly 20 total orders. While this number only accounts for a small percentage difference, it does represent the first time in this series that men bought more—albeit at a fraction of the price—than women.
