ModeSens Metrics: Top 5 Menswear Brands of the Week

Welcome to the latest edition of ModeSens Metrics, where we turn our focus on the best-selling menswear brands of the week. From luxury brands like Rick Owens to streetwear powerhouses like Stone Island and Fear of God Essentials, the labels that resonated most with the ModeSens community this week, are also those where the line between streetwear and luxury is most blurred.

Whether you're a cool hunter or a style connoisseur ModeSens Metrics has you covered with a curated lineup that reflects the dynamic spirit and ever-evolving landscape of men's fashion. Let's dive into the Top 5 Menswear Brands of the Week, where innovation meets sophistication and style knows no bounds.

Rick Owens

Avant-garde visionary Rick Owens takes center stage securing the top spot as the best-selling menswear brand of the week. But his influence doesn't stop there—Rick Owens' dominance continues to soar in 2023, with all signs pointing to a triumphant position among the best-selling menswear brands by year's end, according to our internal data.

This year, Rick Owens’ popularity has reached new heights, perhaps, in part, because of his affinity with street culture, fresh audiences are immersing themselves in the world of Rick Owens.

Further proving the point, Rick Owens drkshdw, his accessibility-priced streetwear label, came in at number six, underscoring Rick Owens’ burgeoning influence across contemporary fashion as a whole.

Amiri

Streetwear powerhouse, Amiri, takes its well-deserved place at number two, solidifying its reputation as a brand that consistently blurs the line between style and subculture. For years, Amiri has been a quiet force in the streetwear realm. And, Like Rick Owens, is well-loved by celebrities, influencers, and rappers who have helped introduce the Amiri name to the masses.

Known for its distressed denim, intricate embroidery, and rock 'n' roll aesthetic, Amiri offers a rebellious yet refined take on casual attire. And With an average price per purchase of $570, Amiri strikes the perfect balance between exclusivity and accessibility, making its distinct designs attainable to a wide range of fashion enthusiasts.

Amiri's exceptional performance in Q1 and Q2 forecasts its strong presence in our year-end rankings, cementing its position as a mainstay in the menswear landscape.

Moschino

Italian luxury fashion house Moschino makes its ModeSens Metrics debut at number three on our list this week, yet again showcasing how streetwear continues to resonate with menswear shoppers, despite the luxury price tag. Moschino was by far the most expensive men’s brand on ModeSens this week, with an average purchase price of $750.

The brand regularly features an explosion of bold prints, loud colors, and large logos, epitomizing the raw nature of streetwear, albeit at a luxury price tag. Like other brands on this list, Moschino’s designs are unapologetically loud and instantly recognizable, but this one finds its home in European streetwear.

Stone Island

Few names in streetwear have a legacy like Stone Island. Much Like stalwarts Supreme and Palace, Stone Island has been a formidable force, commanding the streetwear scene for over a decade. Originating in the UK before making its transatlantic journey to the US, Stone Island's influence has reached far and wide, etching its mark on the global fashion map.

Stone Island's rise to prominence can be attributed to its deep-rooted connection with street culture, particularly in skateboarding and the great outdoors. Influencers from these realms have embraced the brand's utilitarian aesthetics, fusing style with function in a way that captures the essence of modern menswear.

With an average purchase price of $240, Stone Island emerges as one of the most accessible brands on this week's ModeSens Metrics. This data-driven insight reinforces the brand's commitment to providing quality streetwear that's not only stylish but also attainable for a broad audience.

Fear of God Essentials

Fear of God Essentials strides confidently into our ModeSens Metrics spotlight. A brand born from the iconic Fear of God legacy, Essentials emerges as a potent force, redefining accessible street style with a history steeped in contemporary culture.

Fear of God Essentials found its niche as the more attainable sibling to the luxurious Fear of God mainline. Known for its array of Earth-toned staples – from cozy sweatpants to signature hoodies and must-have tees – Essentials took off during the pandemic. The rise of athleisurewear, coupled with our collective shift to staying indoors, ignited a surge in demand for comfort and style, and Essentials answered the call.

With an average purchase price of $60, Fear of God Essentials emerges as the most accessible brand on our ModeSens Metrics list. This price point epitomizes the brand's commitment to offering contemporary streetwear that's both affordable and fashion-forward.
