Nadia Lee Cohen Goes on a Ferragamo Date Night in Hollywood

The artist and photographer dishes on old-school glamour and her admiration for Maximilian Davis, the label’s new creative director.

The scene has been set: roses, strappy heels, scarlet red interiors, and spaghetti dishes made to share. This is the classic Hollywood dreamscape of Maximilian Davis’s new vision for Ferragamo. What comes to light is not only an effortless spin on opulent design, but a stunning cast as well: cinema-inspired photographer Nadia Lee Cohen along with her boyfriend (and Stolen Nova musician) Josh Landau. Since launching his own label in 2021, the British designer has been churning out slinky, sophisticated, red carpet–ready looks—his idea of luxury is simultaneously striking and carries a sense of ease. Through his SS23 Ferragamo debut, Davis makes dressing for a spontaneous date night elegant and exciting with sheer dresses, perfectly structured handbags, and timeless menswear that works for the spotlight and tucked into a private dining booth. On this evening, Landau is drawn to the restaurant’s piano before serenading Cohen, who hits the kitchen in a head-to-toe red ensemble in search of classic tomato sauce.The Italian luxury label first famous for being a “shoemaker to the stars” is growing its legacy under Davis’s direction. “I first noticed Maximilian’s work when he made his debut as part of Fashion East,” says Cohen, who is a longtime fan of Ferragamo (she cites the Spring 1992 collection as a personal favorite). “Maximilian’s Ferragamo is distinctly modern, sophisticated, and sexy, and I think will only get stronger with each season.” Just as Marilyn Monroe obsessed over her red crystal Ferragamo pumps, Cohen turns a chic cocktail dress designed by her friend into . Whenever I’m around someone really famous it almost doesn’t register in my head that it’s actually them. I feel like I’m with a look-alike or something. Though I did tell Raquel Zimmermann the other week that I stuck photos of her on my bedroom wall as a teenager.Those people that make an effort every day regardless of who’s going to see them or where they’re going. I am not one of these people.The colorblocking and clean lines. I prefer less going on in a garment, and he nails that chic yet sexy simplicity.
