The Best Women-Owned Brands to Support Year Round

March is Women’s History Month—and March 8 is International Women’s Day—so in celebration of both, we’ve compiled a guide to the ultimate women-owned fashion brands to invest in now and always. While we’re firm believers that these labels deserve our support all year round, this month, we’re taking the opportunity to pull focus on those from our community. From donating to worthy causes and using sustainable materials to crafting collections infused with confidence, these are the names rethinking the status quo.

Aéryne

Anna-Carina Helander's Scandinavian line of recycled and sustainable closet essentials was started with the dual purpose of empowering women through clothes while giving back to society. Alongside seasonal must-haves, the label runs Aéryne Academy—an initiative that partners with a school in Mumbai, which finances the tuition fees of female students otherwise unable to afford education.

Olivela

Stacey Boyd founded this online store (pronounced ah-li-vay-lah) following a visit to a refugee camp in Kenya. She returned inspired to run a business where giving back was par for the course. Now, this innovative retailer, brimming with of-the-moment designers, is quietly challenging accepted shopping expectations head-on. When you choose from their luxury lineup—Simone Rocha, LaQuan Smith, Jimmy Choo, or Stine Goya, for example—they’ll donate 20% of your purchase to a cause partner of your choice, at no cost to you.

Aurate

This New York-based fine jeweler is a go-to for those who care as much about chic forever items as the impact of how they're made. Founded by grad school friends Sophie Kahn and Bouchra Ezzahraoui, with a mission to offer beautiful pieces with minimal effect on the planet, this women-owned label offers future heirlooms in the form of lab-grown diamond tennis bracelets and recycled, sustainable gold and ethically sourced baguette diamond rings.

Danielle Guizio

Inspired by New York’s thriving sub-cultures, Danielle Guizio started her line straight out of fashion school in 2014 and has since become synonymous with second-skin silhouettes and corsets, beloved by Rosalia, Lady Gaga, the Hadids, and Kardashian-Jenners.

LAPOINTE

With a cult following that includes Gigi Hadid and Hailey Baldwin, Sally LaPointe’s luxe, New York-based collections—largely comprised of cashmere, suede, and satin—are fast becoming a household name. Sumptuous knits, feather trims, and sequin embellishments feature heavily, often in her signature monochromatic looks.

House of Dagmar

With sustainability at its core, this Swedish, women-run fashion brand was founded by three sisters, Karin Söderlind, Kristina Tjäder, and Sofia Wallenstam, and named after their style-conscious grandmother, Dagmar. Known for exquisite tailoring and easy silhouettes, the label is loved for its chic and timeless collections.

Sarah Flint

Part vintage, part modern in feel, Flint started her namesake line of handcrafted footwear so women could invest in exceptional comfort without compromising on style. Triple-dyed Italian suedes and jacquards woven in 300-year-old British mills feature throughout her collections, which are made entirely by Italian artisans and go through rigorous fit testing to ensure they achieve her original goal.

Something Navy

Founded by Arielle Charnas in 2009, this online platform evolved from a style blog to a fashion label in 2020. Now it’s as much a go-to for its editorial coverage as for its specific curation of shoppable basics.

Miaou

When designer Alexia Elkaim couldn't find her dream pants, she set out to create her own and in 2016 her first pair of second-skin jeans, inspired by vintage Parisian denim, were realized. Fast forward to today, and Elkaim offers those trademark pants, along with of-the-moment corsets, classic dresses, and flattering swimwear—a favorite of celebrities and 'It' girls—with the aim of making the wearer feel good. Enjoy 10% off when you sign up for emails.
