This tiny star moon pendant necklace is another unique oxidised silver offering from Acanthus, the fine jewellery line by designer Nicole McIver, whose art history background informs every last detail. This necklace showcases a small, delicately sculpted crescent moon finished with a 24 carat gold star centred with a single white diamond, strung onto a slim ball chain. The gold detailing is painstakingly cut, placed and bonded to the oxidised silver pendant by hand, giving the star its subtly irregular finish. A delightfully versatile piece, wear it day or night, either styled alone or layered with other oxidised silver chains for a contemporary gothic look. Hand-crafting each piece is an essential principle of my work. As an art historian, I treasure the relationship between artist and patron, and I want the wearers of my jewellery to know exactly where their special piece came from, which is directly from my hands.'
