Mouth-blown and free-hand sculpted, this exquisite example of European glassmaking is part of a portfolio of objects created for limited series and bespoke installations. Alexa Lixfeld's 'Meteorite' vase in canyon captures the essence of molten glass in impressions, indentations, and an undulating opening. A deep brown pigment shifts through lighter shades before darkening around the rim. The glowing surface reflects the light in a transfixing design that feels organic yet beguilingly unfamiliar. Subtle marks in the glass, such as bubbling and planing, reflect the artisanal process that makes each vase unique.
