Alexa Lixfeld's family of centerpieces includes this striking, bi-color vase. Mouth-blown and free-hand sculpted, this exquisite example of European glassmaking is part of a portfolio of objects created for limited series and bespoke installations. The 'Spin' vase in pink rose manifests in two globules of smooth glass, with sudden, saturated pigment around the neck. A semi-opaque, glowing surface both reflects and absorbs the light in a transfixing, sensuous design that feels organic yet beguilingly unfamiliar. Subtle marks in the glass, such as bubbling and planing, reflect the artisanal process that makes each vase unique.
