It was wildly popular among the fashion set, so much so that Pierre Balmain named his Autumn/Winter 1952 collection after the scent. The presentation built upon the Maison's New French style, with the term Jolie Madame soon becoming a way of referring to the labels quintessentially Parisian aesthetic - and now a new-season top-handle bag, too.
