This production technique, patented at the end of the 19th century by Charles Goodyear, involves the use of a soft leather welt, along the entire perimeter of the shoe, which is sewn to the edge of a leather insole, thus also joining the upper and internal lining of the shoe. Subsequently, an insulating and filling intermediate insole is added in the space created between the insole and the sole. - In the second step of this process, the same welt is also attached to the sole. This process is visually characterized by the absence of external stitching and, especially in the past, it was considered of great value also because the shoes made with this technique could be resoled several times, therefore lasting much longer. - Color - - Black Italian leather upper, with dark brown ribbed sock.
