Originally a fashion photographer, Monica Botkier unexpectedly fell into designing when she sketched her dream handbag and had it produced, just for kicks. But when the one-off piece—now known as the Botkier Trigger Bag—began garnering attention from friends, colleagues, and even strangers on the street, she knew it was worth making more. By the summer of 2003, she had launched an official label, which soon grew into a fully realized collection of modern, urban-cool Botkier satchels and crossbody bags.
