In 1920, Bulova set up an observatory on the roof of a skyscraper, where a mathematician took measurements that were recorded to set and guarantee the precision of Bulova watches. Since that time, Bulova has remained a forerunner in watchmaking, from being the first company to use a tuning fork to keep time in a wristwatch to producing the panel clocks in the first spacecraft to ever land on the moon. In 2008, Citizen purchased the Bulova Watch Company, which is now the largest watch manufacturer in the world.
