Pre-owned Customizable Monolith Rug By Eileen Grey In Gray

Monolith is characterised by beige horizontal and vertical lines of varying lengths that elegantly accentuate the earthy dark grey background. In places, the lines cross without touching - they suggest a structure that seems to divide the rug into square spaces of different sizes. This design is based on gouaches and pencil drawings from the 1920s, which the Irish designer made as carpet designs and which ClassiCon has now transformed into a 200 cm x 300 cm carpet made of 100 % finest new wool. Hand-knotted and manufactured in Nepal to the highest quality, Monolith is another impressive design in the Eileen Gray rug collection that brings the artistic work of the Irish designer into focus. Eileen Gray created not only some of the most important furniture classics of the 20th century but also had her own studio where rugs were produced according to her designs. Some of her most beautiful patterns are part of the ClassiCon collection: highly durable, high-quality products produced with skilled craftsmanship. The textile artworks, woven with 80 knots per square inch (6.45cm²) from 100% hand-spun New Zealand virgin wool, are easy to clean and suitable for allergy sufferers. Virgin wool is biodegradable and a renewable resource. The colour pigments are environmentally friendly and tested according to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100.
