The refill (sold separately) is interchangeable at any time, as the diffuser does not retain any traces of the previously used fragranced refill. The cartridges can be kept for up to three months after opening, provided the container is properly closed after use. They have a lifespan of 40 hours continuously, ie up to 80 diffusion cycles (1 cycle corresponding to 1 hour).
