About The Author: Alberto Rocca, born in 1967 and a priest of the Archdiocese of Milan since 1992, Alberto Rocca completed his theology studies at the Archiepiscopal Seminary in Milan he was awarded a degree in Modern History at the University of Milan, and a Master of Studies from the School of International Relations at the University of Cambridge. When he returned to Italy he was awarded a PhD at the University of Milan, specializing in the concept of ecclesiastical dominion during the Tudor period. Since September 2008 he has been Dottore of the Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana, since 2010 Director of the Class of Borromean Studies at the Accademia Ambrosiana, and since December 2014 Director of the Pinacoteca. He was Head of the Project for the major conservation of the preparatory cartoon of Raphael's School of Athens, for which a new Stanza was inaugurated on March 26, 2019. A scholar of the Japanese language and Japanese religious traditions since 2014, in October 6, 2023 he also became the Director of the Class of Far Eastern Studies at the Accademia Ambrosiana. He has been Canonico Ordinario of Milan Cathedral since 2018.
