The ultimate in statement seating, Fabio Novembre's 'Nemo' armchair is a surreal sculptural expression like no other. A face carved with classical features and cut-out eyes forms the back of a seat, which, aptly, hides or envelops its inhabitant. The face's expression is composed, curious, thoughtful, open to interpretation. The designer-architect's spectacular vision draws on classical theatre's use of masks to create anonymity, allowing actors to portray a variety of roles. Taking its name from the Latin for 'no one', 'Nemo' conceptually allows whoever sits in the seat to become anyone they like. A talking point and subject of endless conversation, the red version of the design, presented by innovative Italian brand Driade, brings drama and presence to rooms.
