Her career started in fashion working at Harper’s Bazaar, The New York Times Sunday magazine, Interview magazine, and New York magazine. In the early years of her career also worked as a fashion stylist for Estee Lauder styling the print ads and TV commercials. She started to cover design becoming the Style editor at House & Garden magazine and then returning to New York magazine as the design editor in 2007 where she has been ever since. She is the author to two books: May I Come In? and, The World of Gloria Vanderbilt . She is the co-author, along with Hutton Wilkinson, of Tony Duquette, all published by Abrams Books.
