To own a piece of handcrafted Fitch & McAndrew pottery is to peek through time itself-the design duo is dedicated to the art of slip decoration, first attributed to some of humanity's earliest civilizations. To create each handmade piece, a liquid clay and mineral mixture-the slip-is applied to the pottery during its leather-hard stage, resulting in a painterly effect after firing. This lidded jar bears a motif of spindly dandelions, a folkloric take on Fitch & McAndrew's love of nature. Due to the spontaneity inherent to the slip application process, it's subtly one of a kind.
