To clean, wash gently in warm soapy water, rinse and pat dry. Eventually all gold vermeil will wear off and the more often it is worn, the more quickly this will happen. However, as this is one micron of 18k gold with a water resistant e-coating of laquer for extra durability, this should last for a very long time.
