With added stretch, this 2.5 layer Waterproof Jacket is our most comfortable yet. If you’re new to 2.5 layer fabric, don’t worry — we’ll break it down. The first layer is the actual fabric (in our case, a blend of polyester and spandex that’s equal parts durable and flexible). Next comes a laminate layer to aid in waterproofing. Last, a protective “print” (this functions like a liner, but without the added weight and improves breathability) — or, as we call it, the “half layer” —  to seal the deal. The result? A lightweight, breathable jacket that punches well above its weight when it comes to rain defense. You get a full exterior and interior storm flap, with sealed seams for true waterproof protection; an adjustable hood with brim; articulated sleeves for ease of movement; adjustable cuffs; and three pockets for all your gear.
