The first layer is the actual fabric (in our case, a blend of polyester and spandex that's equal parts durable and flexible). Next comes a laminate layer to aid in waterproofing. Last, a protective “print” (this functions like a liner, but without the added weight and improves breathability)— or, as we call it, the “half layer” — to seal the deal. The result? A lightweight, breathable jacket that punches well above its weight when it comes to rain defense.
