Despite the digital production of its surface decoration, the large 'Ikat' plate features a key characteristic of ikat textiles — a fuzziness to the design, here a red, blue and white pattern, which can be brought back to the extreme difficulty weavers have when lining up the dyed yarns to create pattern on traditional ikat textiles.
