More than a few Star Wars-inspired sneakers have been released over the years. Although the Men's Nike Air VaporMax Plus Darth Maul Sneakers in Black/Bright Crimson/Anthracite wasn't officially endorsed by the iconic movie series, it did have clear ties to it. This Nike Air VaporMax Plus drew inspiration from the Darth Maul character that was first introduced in 1999's 'Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.' It had a black and red upper that was designed to look just like Darth Maul due in large part to the sneaker's cage overlays. It also contained translucent Air Max bubbles on the bottom that gave the upper the room it needed to breathe. Our experts all agree that the gradient colors used to create this sneaker were what really made it extra special. These colors enabled Darth Maul's presence to be felt from the front to the back of the shoe.
