Begin with dry, unwashed hair. When applying to hair that's never been color-treated in the past, apply the mixture at the roots and comb the remainder of the product through your hair. Leave on for 30 minutes. If applying to already colored hair as a root touch-up, apply the mixture to your roots only and leave on for 20 minutes. Then, comb the remainder of the product through your hair and leave on for 10 minutes. After application, pour a small amount of lukewarm water onto your hair and rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear.
