Pre-owned Soft Drum Set, 1972

American artist Claes Oldenburg enjoyed a prolific career and was known for his oversized "Pop" reconstructions of everyday domestic objects. His early examples of “soft sculpture” as well as large-scale public art installations made radical contributions to the history and perception of sculpture by rethinking material, form and subject. This print is titled Soft Drum Set, 1972 depicts a "deflated" drum set and illustrates Oldenburg’s penchant for humorous reinterpretations of banal or common objects.
