Sometimes referred to as the "Agnes Martin of Italy", Beatrice "Bice" Lazzari was little known outside of her home country but made some of her most important and well-known works in the last 15 years of her life prior to her death in 1981 at the age of 80. The piece listed her is Untitled from 1968 and is indicative of the hard edge abstraction that was the focal point of her later works.
