Between the bold, innovative silhouettes, and rich mix of textures found in Rachel Comey’s collections, it’s not hard to believe the designer began her career as a formally trained sculptor. Fresh out of art school, Comey first found work creating on-stage costumes for New York City musicians before turning her talents to a small line of menswear in 2001. The venture was so successful she earned the support and resources needed to add womenswear and accessories just a few short seasons later. Nowadays the brand has grown to global proportions, but remains true to the core aesthetic it launched with.
