Between the bold, innovative silhouettes, and rich mix of textures found in Rachel Comey’s collections, it’s not hard to believe the designer began her career as a formally trained sculptor. Fresh out of art school, Comey first found work creating on-stage costumes for New York City musicians before turning her talents to a small line of menswear in 2001. The venture was so successful she earned the support and resources needed to add womenswear and accessories just a few short seasons later. Nowadays the brand has grown to global proportions, but remains true to the core aesthetic it launched with. Rachel Comey shoes, dresses, and coats are each striking, eclectic, and unlike anything else.
