Because it is not "polished" it is slightly heavier weight and in an undyed natural wool color. Each hat is made with a fitted cotton lining that is unique. Because of the natural color, the shades will vary a bit. It has a 2 inch wide gross grain ribbon and bow, and untrimmed brim edge and an adjustable head sweat.
