Part of an ongoing series of original oil paintings that reflect on the artist's time spent on the Cornish coast. Using oil paints in colours integral to the piece, this painting is a response to the landscapes of Cornwall. The artist drew inspiration from works in Tate St. Ives, with particular reference to the geological forms in Wilhelmina Barns-Graham's 1950s paintings. About the artist Both living and working in Bristol, Clare Thatcher is a figurative painter influenced by the landscapes and locations that have a profound effect on her, particularly those in coastal areas.
