The first reproduction of Manly Palmer Hall’s 'Great Book', originally published in 1928, Taschen's 'Manly Palmer Hall. Secret Teachings Of All Ages' is a meticulously-restored version of the Canadian writer's magnum opus. Produced nearly a century after its original release, this version of the book was created in collaboration with the Philosophical Research Society and now features condensed summaries of each chapter of 'The Secret Teachings', newly-discovered artworks and rare photography, as well as essays from journalists Mitch Horowitz and Jessica Hundley. Widely regarded as a pivotal compendium of philosophy and myth, the book was created following Palmer Hall's months of travel across the world, during which he immersed himself in philosophical and religious history, ancient symbols, hidden rituals, and arcane practices. The resulting encyclopedia is accompanied by illustrations by artist J. Augustus Knapp and additional imagery by Mihran Serailian in the companion volume for a total of nearly 60 artworks depicting occult subject matter. The volume is presented with four prints in a portfolio, each selected from the many artworks originally created for the first edition of the book.
