(Copper will not turn powdery turquoise like on building roofs unless exposed to the elements of moisture and air for long periods of time). Please be aware that copper has the tendency to turn the skin green and this is normal; however, wearing earrings keeps the copper from direct contact with the skin. TO CLEAN If you prefer the bright look of copper, clean with a jeweller’s cloth or make a solution of 1 cup of white vinegar and a teaspoon of salt. Dip the pieces in the solution and take out in about 2- 5 minutes when it looks bright enough for you. Wash with soap and water to remove the vinegary smell and pat dry with a towel. You can reuse this solution by storing it in a plastic or glass container with a plastic lid.
