Porcelain plate depicting faravahar, the protective symbol worn by members of the parsi community, descended from Persian Zoroastrians. For the parsi community, descended from Persian Zoroastrians, an important part of Indian culture, the faravahar represents the wisdom of age. It is a protective symbol with different meanings, a guardian angel that exemplifies one of the religion's main teachings - to live with good thoughts, words and actions. It is also believed to symbolize the victory of light over darkness. In the bas relief of the plate, executed by Lladro artists, the sacred figure of the faravahar is enhanced by the delicate ornamentation and the elegant contrast between the purity of the white porcelain and the golden luster of the circular frieze surrounding it.
